Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me.

Sadly I will be alone for this one. Matt had to do a concert he didn't want to do, so I will be live tweeting (humonlazydiva) my impression of the whole shebang.

The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

mmh, was out seeing Mono last night. it was yummy, despite certain jerks. pub+drunk pop kids and random misplaced hoohaw+concert=not as cool as it could've been.
just got home now at 14.34. was sleeping at my lovers/friends place.

the music was great. the pre band was pretty slick aswell, exept for the mediocre singing, they handled the instruments swell.

how was your friday?

so yeah, thinking about going there again tonight and seeing Kaizers Orchestra. not too much money though, besides I'm totally seeing Woven Hand this december. YUSS!

now I'm gonna go hit on a cute girl, hell. why not.

also, that last journal really put a stir it seems, thanks for the support. and no thanks to the slightly silly discussions the journal spawned.

Drank Diasarrono (sp?) for the first time, along with some martinis and whisky, and jammed out to Guitar Hero with some friends that I won't be seeing again for a long time. Good times. Came home, woke up, had phonesex, off to collect stuff before I have to go back to packing. Not as fun as a concert, but Guitar Hero is always a win.
